Thanksgiving in Wisconsin

Amelia spent her first Thanksgiving at her grandparents' house in Wisconsin. She had lots of fun hanging out with her family. Here are some photo highlights from the trip.

Grandpa and Amelia wearing clothes on their heads.

Amelia was left alone with her Dad while I went shopping on Black Friday...

Harrison tried to help Amelia learn how to crawl. So far we still have no forward movement, but thanks for the help Harrison!

Putting up the Christmas tree with the next generation.

Harrison and Amelia got along great. Harrison was very concerned that Amelia be happy, and full of kisses for Amelia. Amelia was a good sport about it all, and found Harrison amusing.

Videos

Okay, I have fixed the video problem, well, Joe fixed it for me. It's not what you know, it's who you know... So in celebration, I am adding another video.

Fun with spoons

Amelia is starting to enjoy her food more, but I need two spoons when I feed her now: one for her to play with, and one to feed her with! She loves grabbing the spoon out of my hand, putting it in her mouth, taking it out of her mouth, hitting her tray with it... everything but feed herself with it. That will come soon enough, I'm sure.

kitties

Amelia and the cats have just started to take note of each other. The other day Amelia was on the couch when Hersha decided to curl up next to her. Hersha didn't stay long though, because Amelia kept grabbing handfuls of hair. We need to work on gentle touches...

5 months old

It's hard to believe, but Amelia is 5 months old already. She is an expert at rolling over and at playing with her toys (she especially loves the exersaucer and pulling blankets over her face). Here she is wearing a sweater that I wore at her age.

And here you can see her sitting on her own. She still tends to topple over or throw herself backwards, but she is learning quickly how to support herself.

Kandra

As many of you know I have started watching Kandra, our neighbor's daughter, after school. Amelia and I pick Kandra up from the bus and hang out for an hour to an hour and a half. Amelia and Kandra find each other totally entertaining, and it works out well for everyone.

Not always happy...

She may not always be happy, but she is always cute, as this photo from the beginning of June shows.

Giggles

This video is from July, and I can't believe how different she looks already. But I still think it is cute to watch her laughing.

Amelia's first trip to Wisconsin

Amelia took her first trip to Wisconsin at the end of August. It was an 8 hour drive, and Amelia did wonderful... for the first 6 hours. Then she had a bit of a meltdown. But after 6 hours, I didn't really want to be in the car anymore either! In Wisconsin, Amelia had her first Packer party with Grandma (note: I am still waiting for someone to send me pictures of that), hung out with her cousin Harrison, slept through her Aunt Sam's wedding shower and met baby Grant (my friend Sara's new baby). It was an eventful and fun trip.

crinkle nose

Amelia has started crinkling up her nose and snorting, apparently just because she can. It cracks me up, so I had to get a photo of it and share it with you all.

Exersaucer

Here is an adorable video of Amelia's first experience in the Exersaucer. It is now one of her favorite places to play.

Swingset

Yesterday we moved the swing set from Joe's friend's house to our place. We had lots of help, and it was a tight fit in the Uhaul (we werent' expecting the dolly and wheel-wells when we did the measurements earlier). Thankfully, Joe's measurements were very exact and we had a whole1/4 inch to spare. The fort is now in our yard, and we will attach the swings soon. Amelia should have a great time on it next year.
